“Well, all I can say folks is that this project will not only be a successful venture, it will be thoroughly rewarding for all of you who choose to take part in it.
“On a winter’s morning, my good friend Mark guided me up Kinder Scout to visit a crash site of two jets on and near the top. Although the weather changed to blizzard conditions, Mark found the sites with great skill and we laid crosses and he allowed me to recite At The Going Down of The Sun. We both felt it a was a fitting tribute and left the desolate spot, knowing they were not forgotten . These shores are a plentiful source of wreck sites and with Mark’s knowledge and experience, I would absolutely recommend you jump into this unique experience. Oh, and he’s a great mate as well!”
“Project RECCE is a social enterprise which has a simple mission of helping ex-military enter into the construction industry. However, we look to complete this transition in a holistic manner including confidence building, taking students outside their comfort zones and building peer-support networks.
“We saw that Treks to the Wrecks could provide all of this and so much more through the unique provision Mark offers. His passion for military history, mountaineering and opening up the great outdoors for others to shine through. His professionalism, expertise and experience makes Treks to the Wrecks the only choice when it comes to outdoor activities for our community.”
“Mark has lead walking groups from Project RECCE and everyone has found him friendly, knowledgeable and safe. A great leader if you are planning a group activity or a more personal walking trip and highly recommended.”
“A fantastic guide! Very professional and knowledgeable in the wrecks and the surrounding areas with a multitude of qualifications. I have worked with Mark on numerous occasions and he is an asset in any situation, a born leader. A great service will be delivered.
“This is a must for anyone wanting to visit these beautiful, natural areas steeped in history. Thanks Mark!”
“A really great guide, knowledgeable and friendly. We would definitely recommend.”
“There’s absolutely no-one else I would trust to get me to the wrecks and back safely. Massively experienced and knowledgeable; but also patient and understanding with me being a novice walker. Can’t wait to get out with Treks to the Wrecks.”
“Absolutely loved my treks with Mark. Very well organised and professional. Looking forward to the next one!”
“Mark is not only a good mate, he is a very experienced mountain leader who makes these walks what they are. His knowledge on the history of each aircraft is amazing, poignant and quite moving. I will be doing a boat load of these walks over the coming months. Great for fitness, a head clearer and views to die for. I highly recommend Mark and the Treks to the Wrecks crew – great trips with great people! Looking forward to the next one already“
“Had a lovely Mark1 Corporate team outing with Treks to the Wrecks. It was great to reconnect with some of my team in such beautiful surroundings and Mark was a very informative and interesting guide as we visited the crash sites of a RB-29A, C47 and a Lancaster. Not only was this a great team building exercise but it really made you think, putting any day to day pressures into perspective. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone, whether that be a team building exercise for your business or entirely for pleasure“
